FIRENZE – A partire da mercoledì 13 maggio prenderà il via l’iter per l’assegnazione di nuovi fondi destinati al rinnovamento degli impianti di risalita toscani di proprietà pubblica. L’avviso regionale mette sul piatto una dotazione complessiva di 1,5 milioni di euro, con la possibilità per gli enti interessati di presentare la documentazione necessaria entro la scadenza fissata al 15 giugno.

La misura punta a dare nuovo slancio all’economia delle zone montane attraverso interventi di riqualificazione e ammodernamento. Il presidente della Regione Eugenio Giani e l’assessore a economia, turismo e agricoltura Leonardo Marras inquadrano in questo modo le finalità dell’iniziativa: “Stanziamo risorse importanti. L’obiettivo del bando è incoraggiare i destinatari ad investire per migliorare l’offerta, aumentare la sicurezza, sostenere la capacità turistica per tutto l’anno ed incidere in questo modo sullo sviluppo economico dei territori interessati”.

Il bando è strutturato su due distinti filoni economici ed è indirizzato in via esclusiva agli enti locali, nello specifico Province, Comuni e Unioni di Comuni.

Il primo canale, finanziato con un milione di euro, riguarda le spese in conto capitale ed è riservato unicamente agli enti che detengono la proprietà delle infrastrutture di risalita. In questo perimetro, il tetto massimo per ogni singolo progetto ammonta a 400mila euro, con una copertura che non potrà varcare la soglia dell’80% della spesa considerata ammissibile.

La seconda linea di intervento, dotata del restante mezzo milione di euro, serve invece a coprire le spese correnti. A questo fondo possono accedere sia i proprietari degli impianti (che hanno quindi la facoltà di sfruttare entrambe le opzioni del bando), sia quegli enti locali non proprietari che sostengono costi legati esclusivamente alle infrastrutture pubbliche e agli spazi posti a servizio delle piste e degli impianti stessi. Per questa seconda categoria, la spesa massima autorizzata scende a 62.500 euro, mantenendo comunque invariato il limite di contribuzione massima fissato all’80%.

Le risorse sono destinate unicamente ai territori classificati come comprensori sciistici secondo i parametri dettati dalla legge regionale 41 promulgata nel 2025. La mappa geografica degli interventi potenziali comprende le aree dell’Amiata (coinvolgendo i territori di Castel del Piano, Seggiano e Abbadia San Salvatore), della Garfagnana (Castiglione di Garfagnana e Careggine), della Montagna Pistoiese (Abetone Cutigliano, San Marcello Piteglio e Sambuca Pistoiese) e, infine, il comprensorio di Zeri nell’omonimo comune.

BRUXELLES, 11 maggio 2026 /PRNewswire/ — L’Air Passengers Rights Association (APRA) condanna fermamente l’ultima proposta diffusa sotto la presidenza cipriota in merito alla revisione del regolamento UE CE261, definendola un pericoloso passo indietro dei diritti dei passeggeri mascherato da compromesso. 

Sebbene la proposta mantenga formalmente una soglia di ritardo di 3 ore, l’APRA avverte che il meccanismo di riduzione progressiva introdotto dal Consiglio innalza di fatto la soglia di risarcimento a 7 ore, tagliando i pagamenti per i ritardi compresi tra 3 e 7 ore fino al 66%. 

Secondo la proposta, i passeggeri con un ritardo compreso tra 3 e 5 ore su un volo a corto raggio riceverebbero appena 83 euro anziché gli attuali 250 euro: una somma che l’APRA definisce “un risarcimento simbolico, concepito per scoraggiare i controlli piuttosto che per tutelare i consumatori”. 

“Definire questo un compromesso a favore dei passeggeri è una barzelletta”, ha affermato Tomasz Pawliszyn, presidente dell’APRA. Il Consiglio finge di preservare la soglia delle 3 ore, mentre in realtà la svuota completamente di significato. Questa proposta innalza la soglia a 7 ore, riducendo al minimo le tutele per i consumatori”. 

L’APRA avverte che la proposta crea l’illusione di proteggere i passeggeri, rendendo al contempo impossibile l’applicazione delle norme: “Questa proposta mina completamente l’efficacia del Regolamento CE 261, distruggendo la sostenibilità economica dell’applicazione delle norme in materia di risarcimento danni. Non solo 83 euro non bastano nemmeno a coprire i costi sostenuti dai passeggeri coinvolti, ma nessun professionista legale o intermediario di risarcimento può realisticamente perseguire cause del valore di 83€ in caso di richieste di risarcimento ingiustamente respinte. Il Consiglio sta creando diritti sulla carta che i passeggeri non potranno mai esercitare”. Pawliszyn prosegue: “Nemmeno i moduli precompilati risolveranno questo problema, poiché sono privi di significato se il risarcimento stesso diventa irrilevante, soprattutto perché le compagnie aeree continueranno a respingere ingiustamente le richieste valide”. 

L’APRA lancia inoltre l’allarme su un’ulteriore opzione proposta dalla Presidenza, che prevede di negare il risarcimento per la cancellazione del volo ai passeggeri che scelgono il rimborso o nuovo itinerario successivo, qualora ne vengano informati con più di 48 ore di anticipo rispetto alla partenza, riducendo così l’attuale periodo di protezione di 14 giorni. Oltre a privare milioni di passeggeri con biglietti cancellati del diritto al risarcimento, questa misura mina un pilastro fondamentale dei diritti dei passeggeri aerei, indebolendo la loro capacità di scegliere liberamente tra un cambio di itinerario e il rimborso senza incorrere in sanzioni finanziarie. 

“Questa non è equità. Si tratta di uno smantellamento sistematico di una delle leggi a tutela dei consumatori di maggior successo in Europa”, ha affermato Pawliszyn. “Ai passeggeri viene chiesto di rinunciare al risarcimento, il tutto con il pretesto di un compromesso. 

Questa proposta è persino peggiore della posizione precedente del Consiglio. Entrambe le proposte di fatto distruggono i diritti dei passeggeri aerei europei, ma almeno la prima versione era onesta al riguardo. Questa nuova proposta è assolutamente ingannevole, in quanto maschera un drastico arretramento della tutela dei consumatori dietro l’illusione di mantenere la regola delle 3 ore, privandola di fatto di qualsiasi effettiva applicabilità o efficacia. 

APRA chiede agli Stati membri e al Parlamento europeo di respingere categoricamente la proposta e di preservare il Regolamento CE 261 come quadro normativo vincolante per la tutela dei diritti dei consumatori. Se questa proposta andrà avanti, milioni di viaggiatori saranno privati di una protezione effettiva, sostituita da quella che si può definire solo una brutta barzelletta. Rappresenterebbe un crollo totale della fiducia nel diritto europeo a tutela dei consumatori: un’eventualità che non possiamo assolutamente permettere!

LONDON and AUSTIN, Texas, May 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The King’s Foundation and FormationQ today announced a new partnership to showcase how towns and cities across the Commonwealth can grow sustainably using quantum technology. 

The partnership, entitled Harmonious Urban Growth: A Health-Optimised Expansion Framework Using Quantum Methods, is a three-year programme designed to help cities grow sustainably while improving the health of people and the planet. The initiative will incorporate advanced computational modelling, including quantum optimisation enabled by trapped-ion systems from IonQ, to explore new methods for planning complex urban systems and sustainable town planning. 

Today, around 1.3 billion people live in unplanned settlements, and that number is expected to grow by well over one billion more in the next 30 years. When urban expansion occurs without planning frameworks, infrastructure and public services can struggle to keep up with population growth, creating long-term challenges for mobility, public health, and environmental resilience. Early planning helps cities become more livable, walkable and sustainable. In many of the places growing most rapidly, professional planning resources are limited, yet the need to organise urban expansion has never been greater. 

The Harmonious Urban Growth programme builds on The King’s Foundation’s Rapid Planning Toolkit, a practical methodology developed with Commonwealth partners following the Declaration on Sustainable Urbanisation (
CHOGM 2022
). The Toolkit enables mayors, planning authorities and built-environment professionals to establish clear frameworks guiding responsible expansion before informal settlement patterns become difficult to reverse. 

The Toolkit was piloted in Bo, Sierra Leone, where it helped local authorities and community stakeholders avoid development in flood-prone wetlands while identifying walkable areas and infrastructure corridors for future expansion. 

The three-year programme will be supported by UK urban planning consultants Space Syntax, who will bring their knowledge on cities, mapping, and data to the initiative. Working alongside The King’s Foundation and FormationQ, they will apply digital modelling techniques to the toolkit process, harnessing the power of IonQ’s quantum technologies to develop new platforms that can support our understanding of the complexity of cities.

TOKYO, May 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — PowerX, Inc.(Head Office: Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture; Director, President and CEO: Masahiro Ito; Securities Code: 485A) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on May 7th with Elektroprivreda Crne Gore AD Nikšić (EPCG), Montenegro’s national electricity utility, regarding the Strategic Cooperation on  Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). 

The MOU sets an indicative target of approximately 500 MWh of BESS capacity over an initial three-year period to support the large-scale integration of renewable energy and strengthen grid stability in Montenegro. 

Montenegro adopted its National Energy and Climate Plan in December 2025, setting 2030 targets that include a minimum 50% share of renewable energy in gross final energy consumption. EPCG, the country’s largest electricity producer, has identified BESS as a key component of its grid modernization and renewable energy integration efforts. 

Under the MOU, the parties will collaborate together to identify optimal BESS deployment plans to support grid reliability, peak shaving, and frequency regulation, with comprehensive after-sales support. PowerX will also explore the potential establishment of local BESS assembly capabilities in Montenegro. 

Montenegro’s EU candidate status, coupled with its power interconnection with Italy, makes the country a strategically important market for clean energy infrastructure in Europe. PowerX aims to leverage this cooperation as a foundation for expanding its BESS business into the European market.

SOPRONKÖVESD, Hungary, May 11, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — JDEnergy has supported the successful grid connection of MVM 11 MW/22 MWh utility-scale energy storage project in Hungary. The system passed all required performance tests on its first attempt. Csaba Lantos, Hungary’s Minister of Energy, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony and commended the project as an important achievement in China–Hungary energy cooperation. 

Hungary’s central European location and expanding renewable energy capacity are increasing the need for flexible energy storage. As wind and solar penetration continues to rise, energy storage is becoming increasingly important for improving renewable energy utilization and supporting grid flexibility. The project was required to meet strict standards for safety, stability, and system compatibility, in line with Hungarian grid requirements and the operational conditions of the European market. 

JDEnergy applied rigorous delivery standards throughout the project, covering installation, commissioning, grid connection, and testing. The first eBlock-418A energy storage cabinet was installed on 16th January, and all 53 units were successfully energized on 1st April. On-site commissioning was completed in just two days. During grid-connection testing, the system recorded zero major failures, zero extended downtime, and full compliance across key parameters, passing all required tests on the first attempt and receiving on-site certification from TÜV Rheinland. It also successfully completed MAVIR’s aFRR (automatic Frequency Restoration Reserve) accreditation test on 23rd April. 

Designed to support a local wind farm, the project is expected to improve wind power utilization and contribute to Hungary’s energy transition. It also marks an important step in JDEnergy’s international deployment of self-developed energy storage solutions, demonstrating its ability to deliver utility-scale energy storage projects in overseas markets under demanding technical and operational requirements.

Others include Zhao Yiman (1905–1936), a revered national martyr who was executed at the age of 31 by Japanese forces after enduring brutal torture, and Deng Yufen (1891–1970), a mother who sent her husband and all five of her children to the frontlines to fight Japanese militarists. 

These women not only exemplify dedication and sacrifice for their country but also demonstrate the profound influence a mother can have on the character and spirit of her children.

Xi’s own mother, Qi Xin, also left a lasting impression on her children. She joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1939, endured the hardships of the fight against Japanese invaders and worked for many years at the grassroots level in rural revolutionary bases. 

Qi’s dedication to a sovereign and peaceful China, along with her close bond with ordinary working people, deeply inspired Xi. 

From a young age, Xi’s mother instilled in him lessons of patriotism and resilience. She once carried him to a store to buy a book about Yue Fei, a 12th-century military commander celebrated for his loyalty. Qi told Xi how Yue Fei’s mother tattooed the characters meaning “serve the country with the utmost loyalty” on her son’s back to encourage him to resist foreign invaders. When Xi asked how painful it was, Qi explained that although it hurt, Yue Fei took the words to heart. From that moment, Xi took those same words as a guiding principle in his life. 

In 1969, during Xi’s adolescence, Qi gave him a simple sewing kit. She stitched the words “niang de xin” (mother’s heart) in red thread on it, a gift meant to give him courage as he prepared to leave Beijing for Liangjiahe Village in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province to experience rural life firsthand. After living and working alongside villagers – eating, sleeping, herding sheep, cutting grass, carrying manure and hauling coal – Xi reflected that one of the greatest lessons he learned was the importance of seeking truth from facts and truly understanding the people. 

The simple and frugal lifestyle of his mother also had a lasting influence on Xi. When Xi worked in Zhengding, north China’s Hebei Province, in the early 1980s, he used a patched quilt made from over a hundred pieces of old cloth that his mother had sewn more than a decade earlier. When an official offered to buy a new one for him, he refused, saying, “The quilt is fine.” 

During the 2001 Spring Festival, Qi called Xi, who was then deputy secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and governor of Fujian. She told him that it was understandable he could not return to Beijing for the family reunion, emphasizing that excelling in his work was the greatest act of filial piety. 

Raised in such a household, Xi has always put the people first. Il primo incontro ha affrontato uno dei temi più silenziosi e più urgenti della sanità pratese: la salute mentale. Accanto ai candidati capolista Pasquale Palumbo e Rosanna Sciumbata, è intervenuto il dottor Giuseppe Cardamone, direttore del Dipartimento di salute mentale e dipendenze, e la candidata Livia Foglia, impegnata quotidianamente nei servizi psichiatrici.

“Il problema non è solo curare: è fare in modo che chi esce da un reparto non si senta abbandonato. È costruire una rete vera tra associazioni, servizi e famiglie: una rete che oggi, troppo spesso, parla lingue diverse”, ha dichiarato Palumbo.

Dal confronto è emersa con forza la necessità di dotare Prato di un Centro di Salute Mentale strutturato e all’altezza della città: uno spazio che integri la dimensione ambulatoriale, gli interventi di gruppo e l’accoglienza delle persone con fragilità psichica. “Le famiglie hanno bisogno di sapere a chi rivolgersi, prima e dopo. Le associazioni hanno bisogno di essere ascoltate davvero, non solo ‘coinvolte’ sulla carta”, ha sottolineato Sciumbata, che già come presidente di commissione aveva portato all’attenzione del consiglio pomunale i temi degli investimenti, degli spazi e del reinserimento lavorativo per i ragazzi in difficoltà.

Era presente anche la presidente della Polisportiva Aurora, che ha ricordato la chiusura della pizzeria gestita dai ragazzi del progetto psichiatrico: un’esperienza preziosa di inclusione lavorativa che non ha trovato la tutela politica che meritava. “Impedire che esperienze come quella si perdano è un impegno che portiamo in consiglio comunale”, hanno dichiarato i candidati.

Il secondo incontro ha messo al centro lo sport come fattore di protezione sociale e sanitaria. Presenti le rappresentanze di Uisp e delle associazioni sportive del territorio, l’incontro ha evidenziato come gli avanzamenti normativi a livello nazionale e regionale debbano trovare applicazione concreta nell’amministrazione locale: uso appropriato degli impianti esistenti, promozione di stili di vita sani, sport accessibile a tutte le età.

“Uno stile di vita sano e un’attività sportiva diffusa sono un fattore di protezione reale contro le malattie — ha spiegato Cardamone intervenuto anche nella seconda serata — non è retorica: è medicina preventiva. E la politica locale può e deve fare la sua parte”.

Entrambe le serate hanno confermato l’identità della lista: parte convinta della coalizione che sostiene Matteo Biffoni sindaco, con la consapevolezza che la propria autonomia dal meccanismo di partito è una ricchezza, non un limite. “Siamo qui per rafforzare il programma condiviso con competenza e libertà di pensiero — concludono Palumbo e Sciumbata — queste due serate dimostrano che i pratesi vogliono confrontarsi sui contenuti. Noi siamo pronti a portarli in consiglio comunale”.
